another day.......

so today....... we spent a lot of time trying to make brand comfy. pulling his leg(funny hu?) blankets no blankets, fan no fan, pee no pee. Oh dear it is exhausting.

new things that you may not have been told. right leg has a big broken toe. and the foot is infected. white blood count is a little high.(it is trying to fight that infected foot) the burned foot is looking better each day with dressing changes. it is very painful however that is good news! there is feeling in it! the wrist is healing well and does not cause much pain.(hip hip horray)  the road rash is looking wonderful. it is amazing how the  body heals itself.

there is hopes to be moving on up to the 12th floor. that is where rehab is. (yes) however that means major work on brandons part. it is going to be hard hard hard and very long. they are saying like 3 weeks up there. YIKES!!!

im not so sure we can do this...... oh sure we can. i can tell that it is starting to wear on everyone ,mostly brandon. but i know he will do what needs to be done to get himself home soon.

things at home: i feel like it has been a eternity since i have seen my family. denver is doing football and craig is trying to run the entire show at home so they have not really been able to come down. cortney is NOT going to school this week. SHAME ON HER!!!! but she has been working. it is her birthday saturday. oh my goodness 19. CRAZY.

GET READY THIS IS A LONG ONE..........

well this is a great time for me to start getting serious about my blogging again. you all know this is a safe spot for me to vent my feelings and not have to care really to much about what people think about me. you know because this is my blog. and, well if you really know me at all, you know that it is all about me, Me,ME!!! (now you are wondering if you really know me at all right)

ok time to get serious.... this week has been HORRIBLE to say the least. on monday i got a telephone call at work that just threw my entire world into a whirl. you know,the one we moms all dread. the one that starts with "brenda....this is logan regional hospital....we have your son brandon here and he has been in aaccident"

i am not the type of mother that goes all crazy and assumes the worst when i get these kind of calls. so on my drive to the hospital i only said once.....i swear god i have lost one child and if you take another from me so help me...."(we will talk about that in a later post) i knew that brand would be alive when i got there. i had made myself clear on that one.

it was a motorcycle accident. it was horrible. it is day 6 and it is still horrible. but brand is alive. it will be a long road. i mean a long road. and we will all learn from this. we will have many emotions. i will become a better person because of this.

i want to share the filming of the accident with you. if you chose to view it you may. i myself have only viewed a small portion of it. i am only posting it so that those of you that have not already heard of the accident will be able to understand a little more about some of the emotions i may share with you at a later time. so that you can get a real sense of how horrible of a accident it was.

oh my goodness i am so far behind. so much time has gone by and so much has gone on. here it is the end of summer and i have not posted once.

well.... cortney is a big girl now and graduated from high school :(
i am so darn proud of her, she got a scholar ship to attend bridgerland and is going into the dental assistant program. and of course she is not loving being a grown up. but she is having a great time hanging with friends and is gone most every night. lets just say she is in the pursuit of a boyfriend and there is a certain one that she has her eye on. you go girl....

denver is all done with elementary and will be starting middle school. oh no.... he is loving his motorcycle and is an amazing rider.

brandon is all grown up it is official.... he is moved out has a full time job and has found a wonderful and cute little girlie friend. i cant wait to get to know her better. it is so fun to watch him be smitten, in love.

grannie and gramps took us ( the fam minus brandon) to Oregon coast for cortneys graduation. it was a  l  o  n  g  ride. but it was also very beautiful. the ocean is always relaxing. however it was mighty cold. so we did not spend much time there. 

well just a little up date. now i get to try harder to stay caught up on my blogger.

I dont even know what to say

Is this NORMAL?

I mean who does not open the door to their sons bedroom and find this?

We have a motorcycle, a guitar a pedal bike frame and much much more.

 Oh dear lord I can only imagine what is inside of that chest.....

 And it only gets worse... it runs out into the hallway!!!  Really are you kidding me? Are my eyes playing tricks on me cuz no one does this right? Or am I simply crazy and it is NORMAL!

Ok to give the kid credit he is preparing to move. Yes you did hear right he is moving out!!!!! If it sounds like I am excited well............. mixed emotions is whats going on inside of me. He is 21 and as he says it "it is time to be on my own". Your right it is time but.......... you are still my little boy. BUT are you kidding a road bike in my basement!!!! Not so cool.

So my dear sweet little boy Brandon. Although I will always wonder what you are doing. You are only a short 20 minute drive away. So take that motorcycle and put it in your own place. But remember you are always welcome home!

*(For any of you that are wondering, I do not live like this! I do not like clutter and filth and mess. I try my hardest to keep things in my home organized and clean. But I do believe that my children need their own private space and I try to not intrude on it unless necessary. However when I do intrude I usually scream and through a fit and say things like, "Oh MY HELL" "this is so not right" "are you kidding me you like this mess" "piggie piggie". So I try to stay out. )

Have you ever had one of those moments when you think,"my kids are amazing"?

I have had many. What can I say? I am a proud mom!

This morning when I checked my phone there was a picture from Brandon, this picture!

And that's when the moment struck me! He is amazing.

Let me start at the beginning.

Brandon is known to not have the best of luck. If something bad could happen it will happen to him. And very,very seldom will you hear him complain about it.

He has been wanting to volunteer for humanitarian work for quit a long time now. And it seems that every time he gets close to being able to do so his bad luck kicks right in.

In December he was all ready to go and he wrecked his truck. Not a biggie you say. Well this is Brand that we are talking about. Bad Bad Bad driving record. We thought for sure he would have his licence revoked for eternity. (it was not)

He ended up not going .

Well for Spring Break he decided he would give it another try. I must admit I feel bad. I did not offer much support on the idea.

Less than a week before he was to leave a nice friendly police officer showed up at our door. "Brandon has a warrant out for his arrest." (this would be that luck again) We could all picture it. Brand trying to leave Mexico and they throw him in  Tijuana jail because he has a warrant out for his arrest.

After much research.... an many hours it was straightened out. (unpaid speeding ticket)

Yipee!!! And he was able to go.

At 4:30 am he came in our room to tell us good bye. At 5:00 am the morning news says sending your kids to Mexico is a fine idea if they go to the resort places. But places like Tijuana are not a good idea.

Cool!!!! We just let our son head there!!! And the son with the most amazing luck!!

Needless to say........ I am so proud of him. He has had a dream and he went after it with all his heart. There was plenty trying to stop him, there was many that did not offer much support. But he went with it.

And to do good! I have said that he does not have a pot to piss in,but he gives everything he has to help those poor little orphans that have nothing.

Yesterday I called him to see how things were going. His group had  all gone to church and dropped him off at the orphanage while they where gone.

He was playing basketball with the kids.

And the picture he sent.It sums it all up. I hope that he is proud of himself.
