So..... if you are wondering how the audit went.... well..... so am I. Things in the kitchen where, should we say, a little tense today. Not sure why. But I think you could have cut the air with a butter knife. It is funny how you can sense those things the minute you walk in the door. I guess that's 6 women working together in a kitchen???? Not sure. When I finally got up the nerve to ask how things went.... the reply???? "We haven't heard much" "I guess no news is good news" Hum so what is all the tension about? I am still wondering my self. Hopefully the weekend will do all a bit of good!

Lunch Lady Land.....

So for about three weeks we (lunch ladies) have been preparing for a STATE audit..... O.k so this is kind of a big deal. The state controls everything... serving portions, menus right down to where we place the food in the serving areas. It is just pure and simple craziness. To say the least things in the kitchen things have been a little tense. Trying to figure out the way they would like to have things done. How do they even know if it works? Do they feed these little darlings everyday? Do they really think that we are going to leave things the way they wont? No we are not. We need to do what works. So tomorrow is the big day!! Hope everything goes smooth.



On a lighter note I must share with you all what amazing students we have at SV. They are the most polite things I have run into in a long time. There is not a day that I work that I do not hear "Thank You" at least 50 times. Can you imagine! These are High School students. It amazes me. So last week the kindest young man says to me as he hands me his tray to be washed " thank you, every day, thank you I just appreciate it so much" I almost wonted to shed a tear. I don't even get that kindness at home. I think a lot of parents are doing a great job raising some very great kids.

My great finds.......

This is the great door that I found at the Thrift Shop.... I have been looking for it for a good year now. Yaaa I found it...this is only its temporary home. When I get the basement repainted the plan is to hang it the long way above the coach, put three antique door knobs on it, and hang pictures of the kids off of them. But I just could not leave it out in the garage any longer so for now this works just great!!

This is another of my great finds. Morris is his name and when I went to get in bed the other night...... well this is what I found. Now how am I supposed to destirp this? He was just so comfy. (you can also see above him, the little white thing, well thats........)

Tucker! Yes he was laying in my bed also. Half a sleep. And he is a little on the grumpy side when you wake him up to move.

Girls Day!

This weekend the girls all got together and went on a road trip for the day to Salt Lake.. The occasion??? To take my sis out to lunch for her Birthday. It was much fun.


And here she is the Birthday girl. My little sis. Love her to pieces!!

We didn't even think about it until Grandma L mentioned.... We had 4 generations together. Ofter lunch we made a run to Ikea. Can you believe it I made it out of the store with not one, let me say that again, not one thing. I was almost proud of myself.

We had a great day other than the snow. Its always fun to hang with the girls.

Spring is here....

Oh how do I know? A little bird told me so....I had a little extra time today waiting for Cortney to get out of school. So I decided to go to the park and read for a bit. It was such a great idea. The sun was shining and the birds where singing. Im sure they where saying "spring is here". When we got home I opened up the windows and let the fresh are in. It was delightful. The spring air fills my soul with sunshine..

I looked out the window and what did I see????? My daffadils are poping out of the ground! OH my I think spring is on its way. I think I have spring fever. The soil is calling my name. Was not planning on a garden this year but after today, the beautiful sun shine....I think I may have to. Maybe a flower garden with a few veggies.
